About Me
So who is Iain Forrest?
There are a lot of people out there offering advice online and asking you to join them in their opportunity. If you are anything like me it is really important to associate yourself with someone that you trust and that you know can help take you to where you want to go. You’ve got your hard earned money and you’re looking to invest in a Business Opportunity that will take your life to the next level. More importantly you are investing in yourself and Your FUTURE, so you need to find someone that has similar beliefs and morals to yours.
So this page is a little bit about who I am, what my values are and what has made me the person I am today. By the end of this page you will have a little more of an insight into that. Some of you will like what you see, some of you may not. As I mentioned before I am not out to work with everyone who looks at this website, I am looking for Like Minded Entrepreneurs who I can respect and enjoy working with. It is equally important that you respect and enjoy working with me. Otherwise why would you let me guide you or listen to what I have to say in helping you achieve your success?
I Am A Husband
First and foremost in my life I am a Husband to my lovely wife, Ellie. We met back in Dec 07. I had just started a new job as a Driver/Guide for a backpacker bus around New Zealand and on my first day of my first trip at my first hostel pick up, Ellie jumped on the bus. To be honest we didn’t get along to well at the start, she was the annoying American vegetarian and I was the stuck up driver. About 5 days into the trip I sat down with her group for a couple of drinks to get to know them and we discovered our first impressions where both wrong and absolutely hit it off. The rest as they say is history.
At the end of the summer we did a 3 month road trip round the USA, where I got to meet the family, culminating in me proposing to her in the Rocky Mountains a week before we came home.
9 months later we were standing Barefoot on the Beach in FIJI with our closest family and friends and were married by the minister from the local village.
I Am An Entrepreneur
Meeting Ellie was the biggest changing point in my life. I went from a carefree traveller with no real purpose or direction in my life to a dedicated husband and family man. I now needed a way to earn
enough to provide for our future family, have the house of our dreams, be there for my future kids and still be able to travel the world. Sounded like a pretty tall order. So I started looking online for a Home Based / Portable Business. I knew it could be done. I had seen other people do it. So now I just had to find the right fit for me.
I actually started my journey with an off line business; after our USA trip I was presented with the Opportunity to buy a small niche business in the tourism/transport sector. What a great way to start. I discovered how much fun it is to Work For Yourself. BE Your Own Boss. Some people hate doing invoices. I LOVE THEM. It means I’m Making Money! It also had the advantage of not having any staff or assets. So was relatively cheap and easy to get off the ground. One of the biggest things I got out of it was my changed attitude to how easy money can be to make. But it only equated to a part time job and didn’t offer the future I wanted. So the whole time I continued looking online for that perfect business.
It took me about a year. I found so many scams. I found possibilities that looked ok but just didn’t sit that well. One of these was Liberty League International. I liked the concept, but just wasn’t too sure. So I got stuck in and did my due diligence. One day I was reading someone’s review on them (it wasn’t very favourable) and it suggested to look at another similar company, but so different in all the right ways!
Now… Have you ever had one of those moments when you look at something and you Just KNOW.
Well that is the feeling I got. But I am a bit of a scientist at heart and wanted proof. So I went searching. I found websites, reviews, videos, even discovered their back office software and did a tutorial on that. That all took me about a month and by the end of it I was sold. This was my chance to “make it” and this company was going to be my vehicle to success, my path to Personal and Financial Freedom. I wanted in. I just had one problem.
How do I join? You see I was a little bit of an anomaly in this type of business. I had actually done all of the research and found most the answers without once speaking to someone (I don’t recommend trying this, if I had just filled in my details on someone’s page at the start I could have saved myself about a month of research and trouble). So I sent an email to the company and asked them to send my details to someone they thought could help me live the life I wanted. They passed me onto my mentor, Bill. Well we set up a time for a chat and that ended up last about 2 hours. We gelled instantly and I had found my Mentor. Life has never been the same.
Now I want to make your journey a little easier than mine. All the research and digging I did over the course of a month I can give to you after a quick phone call. Sound’s much easier doesn’t it!
I Am A Teacher and A Guide
I have always had a love of teaching people. Well, actually I have always had a Passion for Teaching things to people who want to learn them. I don’t really have much time for people that don’t want to be there. So for that reason I never became a teacher. I did however end up in Tourism as a guide. It all started out when I lived in London 8 years ago. Whenever friends or friends of friends would come over I would take the day off work and show them round the city. I loved it. I had done a few tours myself so knew a lot of the history and really enjoyed sharing it with them. More recently I was a guide driving round the whole of New Zealand and right now I am still a wine guide 2 days a week. I still guide because I love it. Now that I am involved with LifePath I get to help teach people how to get out of the rut they are in and guide them into their new lives. This is easily the most SATISFYING thing of anything I have ever taken on.
I Am A Traveller
There is one thing I blame on my parents… My Love of Travelling. I was born 5hrs west of Melbourne in the little town of Portland, at the tender age of 3 months I took my first flight to New Zealand (my mum’s home country). Between the age of then and 18 I lived in 5 houses, 2 countries, went to 5 schools, travelled around Australia, New Zealand, went to the USA, Tahiti and Japan. Then for my 21st birthday my parents gave me a one way ticket to London! I spent 1.5 years in London, did a 100 day trip around the Mediterranean, lived in Edinburgh for 4 months, spent a month travelling through various alps ending up in Austria for 3 months of the ski season.
After that it was back to Melbourne, Australia for a year, where I became a travel consultant for Flight Centre. Not happy with being in Melbourne I jumped across the ditch to Queenstown, NZ. Were I have been living ever since. It’s such an Amazing, Inspiring, Beautiful Place, with such an international flavour.
In fact it’s sometimes hard to find a Kiwi in this place!
Ellie and I spent 3 months road tripping around the USA and Canada last year. We have another 2-3month trip on the board for next June/July. We also have Europe back on the list as Ellie hasn’t seen much of it so it looks like I HAVE to go back and show her around. So I expect that will be another 3-6 month road trip. It’s a hard life sometimes. Oh yeah and we got married on the beach in Fiji.
Well I hope that gives you a bit of an insight into who I am.
There is obviously a lot more to me than this but that is something to be shared over a beer in the future. So if you’d like to change the direction of your life and you’d like to get to know me more then fill out your details and I’ll give you a call.
